Things Needed for School
Below is a list of items needed for school:
School Uniform
Here at Broughton Hall, we like to foster a feeling of community and identity within our school.  For this reason we ask you to support the school's uniform policy.

All uniform is available from John Lewis , Basnett Street; Laser Schoolwear, London Road and Kitted Out , London Road.

Items of uniform should be clearly marked with your daughter's name and her blazer and P.E. kit should have her name embroidered in her Year colour as shown below:

The blazer must also have bias binding tape (also in the Year colour) sewn to the top of the blazer pocket.  This will indicate the pupil's year group and will be given out at the start of the Autumn Term.  Spare bias binding tape is kept by your daughter's Head of Year.

Indoor
 Pale blue and white check short sleeved open necked shirt.
 Navy box pleated skirt (pleats 2½” wide)
 Air Force Blue blazer with badge.
 Navy pullover – single pale blue stripe around neck and wrists.
 Plain, navy socks. Non-shiny navy/black tights may be worn November – March.
 Flat, plain black shoes – boots, trainers or sandals are not allowed and shoes must have covered toes and backs for health and safety reasons.
 Items of uniform, including shoes, should not have logos or coloured trims.
Outdoor
 Plain, navy/black coat
 Coats in other colours, with logos, leather, fur or denim are not permitted.
Personal Appearance
 Hair – for safety reasons, long hair should be tied back with a plain navy/black ribbon or bobble.
 For health and safety reasons, girls are also not to wear jewellery other than a plain wristwatch. If your child has pierced ears, they may also wear a pair of small studs.
 Make Up is not allowed.
P.E. Kit (to be embroidered in Year colour)

Games:
 Blue aertex blouse
 Navy kilt
 Royal blue athletics briefs with yellow stripe

Gym/Dance:
 Royal blue leotard

Netball:
 White ankle socks
 Training shoes

Hockey:
 Royal blue hockey socks
 Training shoes

All sports:
 Plain navy/black jogging bottoms
 Pupils have the option of buying a hockey stick for September and a tennis racquet for the Summer Term.
 If you daughter is unable to take part in P.E., a note must be brought from home and she must bring her P.E. kit.

Other Equipment
Pens / pencil / ruler and other basic equipment are required on a daily basis. They should be stored in a pencil case / tin marked with the pupil’s name and form. A calculator is required for use in Mathematics and Science lessons. Files / stationery and other equipment may be purchased from the School Shop.

Personal Possesions
The children should have a bag suitable for bringing books and other equipment to school. P.E. kits and belongings may be carried around school in small, polythene bags. Money or articles of value should not be brought into school unless absolutely necessary and should be marked with your daughter’s name. Mobile phones, electronic games, personal stereos, CD/MP3 players or radios are not permitted in school at any time.

Pupils are actively encouraged to bring drinking water into school as the drinking of water has proved beneficial to learning. Water should only be carried in a clear, plastic bottle with a sports cap. Follow the link to find out more about the Benefits of Drinking Water.
