We are justly proud of our established and highly successful Sixth Form and our student’s achievements. In 2013 our students’ results at A level reflected the national picture and at AS were significantly above national averages (ALPS 2013). Such success is due to the quality of teaching and learning and hard work of staff, who know the students well and are able to offer individual support and guidance. Students are well supported in their applications to university, college or employment. Many of our students went on to further their studies at university, including Oxford University and Russell Group universities, with others entering a wide range of career opportunities.

We are above all a caring and supportive Sixth Form, reflecting the Catholic Ethos and the work of our founders the Sisters of Mercy. It is our aim to provide the best educational opportunities, both academically, and in the wider sense of developing the whole person. There is an impressive programme of enrichment activities throughout the two years including the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award, sign language courses, web design and foreign exchanges with Philadelphia and Shanghai. The Sixth Form has close links with local universities, careers advisors and other support agencies.

Sixth Form students have their own centre, with a learning environment that is second to none, including a supervised study area of university standard, modern classrooms, a well-equipped hospitality area and kitchen, as well a large cyber café with their own caterers. In addition students benefit from excellent dance, drama and sports facilities. Over £20 million has been invested recently in facilities for students.

We provide students with a challenging and fulfilling Sixth Form experience, with high aspirations to fulfil their potential and achieve the qualifications needed for their future ambitions.

We warmly welcome students from other schools, including all faiths and backgrounds, as well as Year 11 students from our main school.

If you would like more information about Broughton Hall Sixth Form, please contact the Director of Years 12 & 13, Mrs Lodge, on 0151 235 1552.
