U13 Matrix Challenge Shield Champions 2009
This competition is organised by Merseyside Police, it began in March, with a tournament at Walton Hall football centre. The Police aim is to encourage teenagers to ‘Join a team not a gang’.

In the first stage of the tournament, Broughton won their section by defeating Alsop 1.0, Shorefields Tech. College 4.0 and Croxteth Comp. 4.0. This qualified the team for the semi-finals to be held at Goodison Park on May 22nd.



Broughton defeated Calderstones High School 4.0 in the semi-final, the final was played against Archbishop Beck, it was 0.0 at full time but Broughton won on penalties with Sarah Jackson and Lauren Barrett both scoring, and Beth Seasman making a great save!

The trophy was presented by the Chief Constable of Merseyside - Bernard Hogan-Howe.



The players are: Ellie McDonagh, Charlie Millea, Sarah Jackson, Laure Barrett, Hannah Atherton, Alex O’Sullivan, Amber V-Brackley, Chelsea Arnold , Heather Welsh, Beth Seasman, Lauren Whitehead and Georgia Donnellan.
