What is the roleplay about?

?
  • The roleplay is the first part of the speaking paper. You need to perform two roleplays.
  • In the foundation exam, the roleplay instructions are given in English on the candidate's card.
  • In the higher exam, the roleplay instructions are given in French on the candidate's card. In addition, one of the instructions is not given and it is indicated by !. In this case, the candidate will have to answer to the teachers question with no advance preparation.
  • The roleplay is worth 4 marks in the foundation exam and 8 marks in the higher paper.
  • You have ten minutes preparation and you can take notes on a piece of paper and take it into the exam.

  • Use gestures and drawings if you have problems expressing what you want to say
  • Request for help: ¿Qué?, Puede repertirmelo, No entiendo, más despacio ...
  • Try to get the general meaning of questions even if you don't understand all the words
  • Always answer to questions in full sentences!!!

How can I practice for the roleplay?

First, practice writing the roleplays down and reading them aloud. Then, and preferably in pairs, perform the roleplays without looking at what you have written down before.
